Exams undergone by Paulo Dybala have shown a lesion in his left thigh, meaning the Argentinean striker will return to action in 2024, missing games against Napoli and Juventus.

La Joya was forced off the pitch in the first half of Roma‘s 1-1 draw against Fiorentina on Sunday.

Sky Sport Italia had reported on Monday that Dybala’s injury didn’t seem severe so the Argentinean forward was expected to miss games against Sheriff and Bologna, potentially returning to the pitch on December 23 in a home Serie A game with Napoli.

However, Dybala underwent medical examinations on Tuesday afternoon, and several sources in Italy, including Calciomercato.com, claim the Argentinean won’t return to action before the new year.

According to the reports, exams highlighted a lesion in the striker’s left thigh, so Dybala will be forced to the sidelines for at least three weeks.

This means the 30-year-old will also miss games against Napoli and Juventus.

Dybala has four goals and six assists in 14 appearances across all competitions this season but has already missed nine games due to injuries in 2023-24.
