Roma had the chances to draw level in Turin, but it was a centre-back who got the top Football Italia rating.

Words: Ciro Di Brita – @Ciruzzo36

Alisson –  6

Did well to stop Giorgio Chiellini and Medhi Benatia from point blank range, but couldn’t keep out the third attempt. Was let down by his defenders on that set piece.

Alessandro Florenzi – 6

Words: Ciro Di Brita – @Ciruzzo36

Alisson –  6

Did well to stop Giorgio Chiellini and Medhi Benatia from point blank range, but couldn’t keep out the third attempt. Was let down by his defenders on that set piece.

Alessandro Florenzi – 6

Almost equalized when he ghosted into the box and hit the crossbar with a deft little chip. Had a good game in defence and in attack.

Federico Fazio – 7

Made one superb sliding tackle to deny Juan Cuadrado a goal-scoring opportunity in the first half, then chased back to put a toe in to halt Gonzalo Higuain.

Kostas Manolas –  6

Defended decently enough until he combined with Fazio to sloppily give the ball away to Higuain in the box.

Aleksandar Kolarov – 6

Showed off some nice control and touches, tried to drive forward whenever the opportunity presented itself.

Kevin Strootman – 5

Did alright on the defensive side of the game, but added nothing creatively going forward. Was subdued and spent most of his time on the field chasing shadows.

Daniele De Rossi –  5

Mopped up to deny Sami Khedira a free run on goal. Booked for a high-footed challenge on Andrea Barzagli. A basic De Rossi performance.

Radja Nainggolan – 5

Never got into the game and was anonymous. Didn’t look as fired up as you would expect him to be against Juventus.

Stephan El Shaarawy – 5.5

Half stumbled when he was presented with a chance on a platter in the first half by firing straight at Wojciech Szczesny. Was kept quiet by Alex Sandro until he was replaced with around 25 minutes to go.

Edin Dzeko – 5

Never got into the game, didn’t even win his side free kicks. Has one Serie A goal in his last 11 appearances and that’s starting to become a concern.

Diego Perotti – 5

Had a difficult night in having the weight of all of Roma’s attacking onus on his shoulders. Juve just let him cross into the box in the safe knowledge that Chiellini and Benatia would win all their headers.

Substitutes:

Patrik Schick – 4

Replaced the ineffective El Shaarawy and had a glorious opportunity to level things at the death, but shot straight at Szczesny.

Lorenzo Pellegrini– 5

Came on to add a goal-scoring threat but never got into any dangerous positions.

Cengiz Under– 6

Got five minutes at the end as a last roll of the dice and almost scored with a diving header.
