Roma and Napoli are among a list of several clubs reported to be interested in former Arsenal defender and current Monza centre-back Pablo Mari ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 30-year-old, who joined Monza from the Gunners on an initial loan before making the move permanent in 2023, has helped Monza record an impressive 11 clean sheets from 29 Serie A matches this term.

According to information from Calciomercato.com, Roma had made genuine enquiries to Monza in relation to Mari during the January transfer window.

Reports suggest that Monza CEO Adriano Galliani personally fended off interest in Mari mid-way through the season.

However, Galliani’s efforts in January do not mean that the situation has been resolved entirely. In fact, Roma are still interested and could make another enquiry in June.

Roma will also be joined by Napoli on the list of interested parties, who could be in need of a low-cost alternative at the back depending on their own movements this summer.
