The Newcastle United full-back has been linked with a return to the peninsula this summer, with a number of teams said to be tracking his availability.

However, whilst the 23-year-old acknowledges interest from Roma and Milan in particular, he has indicated his future may still be in the north east of England.

“There has been interest from Roma and Milan but I have two years left on my contract at Newcastle and I don’t know if they will let me go,” Santon has told Sky Sports this week.

“I must say that I feel good at Newcastle as they have made me feel at home and I like the English League.

“Roma and Milan are two major teams, the Giallorossi have been shown to have a strong team who’ll be able to fight for the Scudetto next season.

“Milan had some problems this year and have changed Coaches – Allegri originally, then Seedorf and now Filippo Inzaghi, so things haven’t been very stable.”

The Corriere dello Sport report today that Newcastle have set an asking price of €10m on Santon, a figure that both Roma and Milan reportedly view as too high.
