Roma's new structure is beginning to take place now that Thomas Di Benedetto has reached a preliminary agreement to purchase the club.

Walter Sabatini, the talent scout who brought Javier Pastore from Argentina to Italy, is set to become Roma's new director of sport.

Speaking on Tuesday, Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini said: "Sabatini is professional and honest. He will do very well.

"He will not buy Pastore, but he knows South America so well that he will find another one."

La Gazzetta understands that Lamela is already on Sabatini's radar, although Roma face competition from Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and Tottenham.
