Paulo Dybala joined up with the Argentina national team for this international break but did not feature as he prepares to return for Roma’s key game against Inter.

The 28-year-old forward did not feature in the Giallorossi’s last league match against Atalanta after suffering a flexor problem in the warm-up, but he still flew over to the United States to join up with the Argentina camp ahead of their friendlies against Honduras and Jamaica. Dybala did not take part in either match and simply trained with Lionel Scaloni’s side.

As highlighted by Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma are ready to welcome Dybala back ahead of their game against Inter on October 1, and he’s expected to start despite being sidelined for the last few weeks.

The former Juventus man will return to Europe on a charter flight to Madrid between tonight and tomorrow morning, and his next stop will then be the Italian capital, where he’ll return to Jose Mourinho’s squad to start preparations for the Nerazzurri clash.

Dybala has scored three goals and provided two assists in his first six Serie A appearances for Roma this season.
