Roma are interested in signing alleged Milan target Japhet Tanganga, according to reports in Italy.

The Tottenham Hotspur defender has been a reported Milan target for some weeks but a deal appeared to be held up due to a failure to agree on the structure of the loan.

Milan are reportedly turning to other targets which include Paris Saint-Germain’s Abdou Diallo.

And Il Tempo report Roma would be interested in a deal for Tanganga if they are able to find an agreement with Spurs.

However, according to the report, they are likely to find the same issues Milan have struggled with as the Giallorossi would prefer the option to make the deal permanent while Spurs push for the clause to be permanent.

A move to Roma would see Tanganga reunited with coach José Mourinho, who handed him is his Premier League against Liverpool in January 2020.

Tanganga has made 43 appearances for Spurs in all competitions.

  1. Whatever about this guy, I’m astounded Milan haven’t gone for Wijnaldum in a bigger way. Makes no sense to go after Tanganga instead of a midfielder.

  2. I agree DB. Surely CM is our priority after losing our starting CM in Kessie? We haven’t lost any starting CBs and the ones we have won us the title.

  3. Exactly. Even if its just 1 season before he goes back to PSG, he would bring experience and quality to the midfield. Allow Pobega to learn for another season before he hopefully takes that spot for his own.

  4. Because Wijnaldum is on over 9M in wages at psg …… how the hell would Milan afford that & good luck to Roma if they can get psg to cover 2/3’s of his wages.. it would make no sense in Milan doing it just for a year and having to try start with Pobega again he is either ready to play for MIlan or he is not & we will find out

  5. He is taking a pay cut to go to Roma, that’s been widely reported. No reason he wouldn’t do the same at Milan. Pobega is obviously not ready, that’s why Milan are still trying to get Sanches. A year learning your trade can make a big difference.
