According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma and Nicolò Zaniolo have made the decision to reject all offers this summer, including Tottenham, and discuss a new contract from September.

The 23-year-old Italy international is under contract until June 2024 and there had been some tension within the club over the potential extension.

It was reported by multiple sources that the Giallorossi and Zaniolo’s agent were open to offers this summer, in particular from Juventus.

However, after Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur made a strong approach, Roma seem to have changed their minds.

His agent Claudio Vigorelli met with Roma director of sport Tiago Pinto in Milan today and they decided to stick together at least for this season.

They can begin negotiations for a new contract in September, once the transfer window has closed, with the hope of a deal until June 2027.

It had been clear the parties would only consider an exit for the right price and destination, but nobody was able to meet the €60m tag.

  1. Good move. No point going to a small club to play regista or as a defender. PhD Max will be relieved.
