Roma and Juventus have been fined by the sporting judge following insulting chants from some of their fans.

The Giallorossi fans repeatedly called Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic a ‘gypsy’ and made other insulting comments during the 3-1 loss on Thursday. Coach Jose Mourinho attempted to intervene to stop the chants, but the damage was already done.

As announced in an official statement, Roma have been fined €25,000 in total following the sporting judge’s decision. €15,000 of this is due to the insulting chants, with the other €10,000 stemming from throwing of firecrackers and other objects into the opposing fans’ stands.

Juventus were also given a €10,000 fine after some of their fans made anti-Naples chants during the 1-1 draw at the Allianz Stadium on Thursday, something that often happens when the two rivals meet.

The sporting judge also fined Lazio €2000 after a smoke bomb was thrown onto the playing area during the 3-3 draw with Empoli at the Stadio Olimpico.
