Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has spoken about the ailing fortunes of Milan and Inter, calling the situation “sad”.

The Bayern Munich winger also discussed the fortunes of Roma, who his own club thrashed 9-1 over two games, insisting that the Giallorossi are still a good side.

“Once your League [Serie A] was the most attractive,” Ribery reflected to the Gazzetta dello Sport’s weekly ExtraTime magazine.

“Everyone used to look toward it.

“Now historic clubs like Milan and Inter are having difficulties the League is associated more with Juve and Roma, two very strong teams.

“It’s sad to see the Milanese in such a situation, so low in the table and outside of Europe.

“It’s sad for the fans, for the League and for the very history of the club.

“As for the matches between ourselves and Roma, I’ll say that they’re a good team, but we’re stronger with international players with Champions League experience.

“Also, we must acknowledge that we managed to score from every chance we had, which won’t always happen.”
