Tottenham Hotspur welcome Pierluigi Gollini today, but are also stepping up talks with Atalanta for defender Cristian Romero, with suggestions he has agreed personal terms.

Atalanta goalkeeper Gollini flew out from Linate airport in Milan this evening to complete his transfer, on loan with option to buy for €15m, which becomes an obligation after 20 appearances.

According to Sky Sport Italia, now that deal has been finalised, Tottenham director Fabio Paratici is turning his focus onto Gollini’s Atalanta teammate Romero.

La Dea want €55m to release the Argentina international centre-back, who is fresh from winning the Copa America.

Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio confirms Spurs have had more talks today for Cuti Romero, but remain a long way off agreeing a fee.

Fabrizio Romano, who also works for Sky Sport Italia, says that Romero has agreed personal terms with Tottenham for a five-year contract, so is now just waiting for the clubs to strike a deal.

The 23-year-old is still technically on loan from Juventus, but they have an option to buy for a total €18m and naturally will activate it.
