Venezia are interested in bringing former Milan striker M’Baye Niang back to Serie A, but there’s competition from Fenerbahce and Celtic for the Rennes man.

The 26-year-old striker has just returned to Stade Rennais after a six-month loan spell with Al-Ahli Saudi FC, where he made just five appearances.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Venezia have made an approach to discuss whether the move could go ahead.

Tuttomercatoweb give the details as a loan with option to buy for €3.5m.

A Senegal international, Niang has plenty of experience in Serie A after playing for Milan, Genoa and Torino.

Venezia are newly-promoted to the top flight and have been very active on the transfer market this summer after winning the play-offs.

However, they are not the only club interested in Niang, because French transfer expert Sebastien Denis claims he is also a target for Fenerbahce, Celtic and Shanghai SIPG.

Rennes paid €15m to sign Niang from Torino in 2019 and his contract with them runs to June 2023.
