Tijjani Reijnders admitted he ‘learns something new’ every game in Serie A and believes in Milan’s chances for the Scudetto this season.

The 25-year-old Dutchman has quickly impressed with the Rossoneri following his €20m move from AZ Alkmaar back in July, providing two assists in his first six Serie A appearances. He has started all of their league games so far, looking a good fit for Stefano Pioli’s squad.

Reijnders has enjoyed a fairly strong start to the season by Milan, who sit second in the league table with 15 points, tied with league leaders Inter. They need to impress in the Champions League after picking up just a point from their opener with Newcastle United.

Speaking to Sport Mediaset via Calciomercato.com, Reijnders first reflected on his first few months with Milan.

“I feel very good here, I felt at home straight away. I’m in good shape and I’m happy to be here. It’s not easy, it’s a different competition compared to the Dutch league. In every match I learn something new.”

He commented on his performances so far for the club.

“I always try to create chances in matches and help the team. I would also like to do it with goals, that’s the only thing I lack.”

The 25-year-old spoke about the team’s hopes for the Scudetto this season.

“We believe in the Scudetto, we have a very good team. Even those who don’t play from the start do very good things. There is a lot of quality, we can do great things, maybe even win the Scudetto.”

Finally, Reijnders discussed his role in Pioli’s midfield.

“I like the role I have here, I’m an offensive midfielder. I like attacking, but also defending. The role I have here is the one I like.”
