Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has won the 2022 Ballon d’Or after helping his team and coach Carlo Ancelotti secure the Champions League and Liga title.

The 34-year-old France international picked up the trophy in Paris, handed over to him by Bleus legend and previous Ballon d’Or winner Zinedine Zidane.

He had long been expected to take the title after Real Madrid did the Double with his goals absolutely instrumental.

Representing Serie A, Rafael Leao finished 14th for Milan, with Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic in 17th and Rossoneri goalkeeper Mike Maignan 25th.
