Brahim Diaz proved the difference maker in Milan’s Champions League win over Tottenham and Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on his development in the Lombardy capital.

The 23-year-old Spanish forward joined the Rossoneri on a two-year loan deal from Los Blancos in the summer of 2021, a move that has a €22m buy option attached, with a buy-back option set at €27m.

After Milan invested in Charles De Ketelaere last summer, Diaz looked set to return to the Spanish capital at the end of this season, but his contributions this season could change that.

As highlighted by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Diaz has netted a number of important goals for Milan this season, scoring a brace against Monza in October, an impressive strike against Juventus and the decisive goal in the Champions League Round of 16 first leg against Tottenham.

With less than six months to go on his contract with the Rossoneri, Real Madrid are following his development closely, aware that a return to Spain could be on the horizon soon.
