“We started the week after a heavy defeat, but with the enthusiasm and realisation we can build on the good first half performance against Juventus,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“Everyone wants to play and tomorrow we intend to go for it. We must be a positive side that takes the initiative, but also keep better possession to create more consistent dangerous opportunities.

“The important thing is to maintain our identity, no matter who we are playing against. It’s the only way to get results.”

Milan have been dominant so far this season, winning five out of five games between Serie A and the Europa League, yet to concede a goal.

“The Rossoneri have played several official matches so far this season and therefore are in better shape than us. The quality level has improved a lot from last term and they are very good at pressing as soon as they lose the ball. Our attitude will be decisive.”

Cagliari have signed Gregory van der Wiel, but the Belgium international full-back is not in the squad for tomorrow’s game “due to a slight sprain he’s carrying from Fenerbahce.

“I spoke to him before he arrived in Italian football, because it’s fundamental to settle into a different culture. When it comes to tactics, players are so smart that they only need a week to get the hang of a new team.”
