Claudio Ranieri has no intention of retiring just yet, highlighting that he’s waiting for a club with an ambitious project to call him.

The 70-year-old Italian coach, who was most recently in charge of Watford before his dismissal in January, has remained out of work for the last few months, keeping a close eye on a number of Europe’s top leagues. The Europa Conference League has set up a special match for Ranieri as Roma will face Leicester City in the semi-finals.

Speaking to AS, Ranieri underlined his ambition to return to coaching and suggested that he still has a long journey ahead of him.

“I miss football, it’s my life. I can’t wait to be called for a good project, in an ambitious club. I want to go back to work, I don’t think about retiring.

“I’m bored being at home, not being around the world of coaching. I’ve never counted the number of teams I’ve coached. In fact, in my opinion there’s not many and I still have a long way to go.”

Ranieri has coached an incredible 19 clubs throughout his career, everything from Juventus to Fulham to the Greek national team. He famously won the Premier League with Leicester City in the 2015-16 season, writing one of the greatest sporting stories of all time.
