Multiple reports in Italy suggest Jorge Mendes is no longer in charge of Rafael Leao’s future as Milan have been told to only negotiate with family lawyer Ted Dimvula.

The Serie A giants are willing to extend the contract of the Portugal international, which runs out in June 2024. Jorge Mendes brought the striker to the club from Lille in 2019 and has been in talks with the Rossoneri until the last few months.

However, Milannews and Sky Sport Italia suggest that the scenario has now changed. In a meeting at Casa Milan this evening, the lawyer Ted Dimvula informed the Rossoneri that he is now the only person in charge of negotiations with the club.

Dimvula is believed to be the lawyer of the Leao family and a very close friend of his father.

The latter was expected to meet Milan directors today, but the summit was first postponed and then cancelled. Nevertheless, Dimvula did turn up saying that he is now the man to talk to.

Milan are in a hurry to extend Leao’s contract and hope to reach an agreement before the start of the World Cup. However, they know it’s a hard task also considering that Leao expects the club to pay part of the €19m fine he owes to Sporting CP.

  1. I bet Leao doesn’t even know what’s going on… In fact I bet this Dimvula character is looking for a fat pay day Mendes-style to move Rafa to PSG. “Close friend of his father” sounds shady.
