Reports in France claim that Paris Saint-Germain are trying to bring Stephan El Shaarawy in from Shanghai Shenhua.

The Italy international turns 28 next month and has been in China for just over a year, since his €16m transfer from Roma.

According to Telefoot, El Shaarawy is seen as a low-cost alternative to other PSG targets.

The versatile wide forward came up through the Genoa youth academy and moved to Milan for €20m in 2011.

He went on to spells in France with Monaco, then Roma, never quite delivering on that potential.
