Cesare Prandelli believes “there’s something missing” at boardroom level for Roma due to their handling of the Francesco Totti saga.

The Giallorossi captain may not be offered a new contract with the club, as President James Pallotta wants him to retire and take an off-field role.

“Something is missing from a directorship point of view in handling a champion like Totti,” Prandelli explained to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, before going on to discuss the Napoli match.

“Something is missing from a directorship point of view in handling a champion like Totti,” Prandelli explained to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, before going on to discuss the Napoli match.

“It’s not easy to make a prediction. We’re talking about two teams that want to build a great future, and earn valuable points for Champions League qualification.

“Napoli have held their position [second] for a long time and they’ll want to maintain it until the end.

“Napoli deserve applause for this season. They’ve played good football and made it a compelling season.

“The foundations for a successful future have been laid, but for a balance League we need Inter and Milan to get back to the top too.”

The former Italy CT was also asked about Partenopei striker Manolo Gabbiadini.

“He’s a special talent, I personally gave him his debut for the national team. He deserves the national team, the staff will monitor every player and take the necessary decisions for the European Championships.”
