Andrea Pirlo’s son Nicolo has caused controversy after suggesting his father’s Juventus played better football than the team this season under Massimiliano Allegri.
Writing on social media after the Bianconeri’s 2-0 Coppa Italia win over Fiorentina, Nicolo Pirlo complained about the quality of football on display in Turin, before quickly clarifying in an attempt to explain his comments.
He first wrote: “The fact remains that last year’s Juve were much better, am I wrong about that too?,” before adding “however, don’t misinterpret my words, I’m talking about the way we play, not anything else. Juve this year is a great team, respect for the coach and the players!”
Today, Pirlo posted an Instagram story suggesting that the Twitter account was fake and didn’t represent him. The account itself has seemingly disappeared and can no longer be found.
Many fans were unimpressed with this explanation, pointing out the fact that he’d advertised the Twitter account on his Instagram page on a number of occasions. He’s now landed himself in hot water with some of the Bianconeri faithful, giving him a painful lesson of social media.
Pirlo = UCL qualification in the very last match (with a little help from Verona).
Allegri = already in a UCL spot (top 4) & has beem for a while.
Pirlo: = 78 points from 38 games, 77 goals for, 38 goals conceded and goal difference 39.
Allegri: = 63 points from 33 games, 50 goals for, 29 goals conceded and goal difference 21.
Statistically, Pirlo’s Juventus was better. i really think he shold have been given another chance as it was his first experience in coaching and would have definitley learned a lot from the first year.
Of course a large percentage of Juve fans will be upset. Since 1897 they have only been accustomed to 1-0 wins, but built their reputation on defensive prowess and grinta that could grind it out. Pirlo was a scapegoat as he tried to do things that the fans have never seen before, even if they often backfired. The PhD fan girls love the back, back, down, down slow ball. Deep down they love it and will enjoy the next 3 years of 4th place finishes which they now own.
Pirlo failed with Ronaldo and chiesa.just not good enough.

The team needs a rebuild. Why not stick with a coach that could build with it. Alegri is obviously a better manager. He has the runs on the board. But who knows what Pirlo could of been? Unfortunately Juve are too stuck in its ways and sometimes you need to suffer in the now to build something great for the future
Pirlo’s son 100% correct and for those Juve fans who support Alegri’s terrible football and style, as long as Alegri in charge Juve will achieve nothing, at least Prilo was not costing much and still made a great job despite all the circumstances.

I have been watched juve since 1992 and their peak performance just only saw in 1995-1999 and 2011-2015 after that only a circus, playing ball from the keeper to the back to mid to upfront and then go back to the keeper again and again just like circus
One I don’t like about pirlo team is, his defense is a mess and so much worse.. the rest is okay.
I am Juve fan from 94-95,but i do not like how the team si being managed!!The first problems started 2015-17 when we sold Vidal and Pirlo and on the next season Pogba!!We never changed them with players on that level!I remember we got Pjanic,Hernanes,Lemina and injury prone Khedira!!They are not on evan half of the level of the previous 3 players!!And instead fixing this midfield issues what they do from board they buy 31 yo Higuain for 95million!!After that all bad free transfer deals:Can,Ramsey,Rabiot…. players that never fit in the scheme and have too defensive roles!Not to mention the talanted players that we do not developed and kept in the team like:Zaza,Coman,Cancelo,Spinazolla,Kulusevski…!!After the midfield issues came the defensive issues Barzagli retired,Bonucci and Chiellini are not getting any younger and what they do from board they buy Ronaldo for 100 million+ which we never used properly because balls were hardly getting to him,because of the lack of creative attacking players in midfield!!De ligt is super overrated and bad investment and now we give Dybala for free!!Aaa we also changed Buffon with Scezny when i read that Navas was ready to join us for free!!Mistakes,mistakes,mistakes…From managerial side this team really went downhill after Marotta left and Allegri football is disgusting to watch!!He won all of his titles only because Conte and Marotta builded that winning mentality which is gone now!!!
pirlo and sarri is the victim of juventus lack of respect and thrust. juventus management hired them knowing the former young promising coach who lack experience and need time to build team, the latter is know for meticulous tactical approach which need time to adept. yet both of them sacked only after 1 year. who know what both can achieved if given times.
juventus management for couple past years always said want to rebuild the team, yet they never given chance for pirlo and sarri to build team, rebuilding team is process and its fair for them to give more times.
