Reports from France suggest that Antonio Conte is confident that he’ll pull off a switch to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

The Italian coach took over at Tottenham from Nuno Espirito Santo at the start of November and he’s overseen 30 games across all competitions so far, winning 17, drawing three and losing 10. In the Premier League, he’s average 1.91 points per match from 22 games, working to guide the team to fourth in the table.

As reported by Le Parisien, Conte is incredibly keen to take over from Mauricio Pochettino in Paris in the summer and is apparently quietly confident that he’ll secure the role.

The Italian coach has reportedly told PSG’s management that he’d like the role and they’ve added him to their list of possible options. Topping that last is Zinedine Zidane, who is supposedly more interested in taking over the France job from Didier Deschamps.

It’s hard to imagine Conte leaving Tottenham so soon, but he may not be impressed with Daniel Levy’s plans for the upcoming summer transfer window.

  1. Serial moaner and club switcher. Burns bridges everywhere he goes. I will be shocked if he gets employed by any of his ex-clubs ever.

  2. I would say it is inevitable that Antonio as one of the top coaches in the world would want an elite European club.
Under Levy and Lewis, Spurs are not and will not be elite or ambitious

  3. Conte accepted the Spurs position too early. He really wanted the Man United job, but acted too soon ..

  4. @Suffolk – He moaned about funds at Juve and left. Allegri comes in and pretty much takes the same squad to 2 CL finals in his first 3 years. Conte sucks wind in Europe.

  5. Spot on, can’t understand the lovefest towards this guy.

Demands transfers , demands more, leaves and club left with players on crazy contracts

  6. @Peter, he was never considered a candidate by Man Utd. Conte is an excellent manager, not great, but he’s too disruptive for a club like Man Utd or Real Madrid.
Look at what he did at Tottenham. One month in and he started criticizing the club transfer police, etc. in his press conferences, this is just an invitation for chaos and headaches. And some clubs don’t wanna have that.
This move to PSG seems unlikely in my opinion, they’re already talking about Zidane as a way to convince Mbappe.

  7. Love what he did with Italy at euro 2016 but he always leaves . Had be stayed we would have qualified in 2018. He just can’t stay in one spot long

  8. If this is true, Conte will soon be on his way to having coached every team in every league. If he goes to PSG, he’s not going there to win anything, just to drink the champagne, collect the cash and sleep with the women.

  9. @Frankie spot on! Why would PSG want Conte. They can take any decent cheap coach if they just want to win the league. They need a coach with european pedigree. Conte is a top coach except for european competition
