Marco Verratti’s agent has confirmed that Pescara are keen to keep hold of the talented young midfielder ‘for at least another year’.

Verratti was a member of the club’s Serie B title-winning team last season and was rewarded for his form from central midfield with a call-up to Cesare Prandelli’s provisional Euro 2012 squad.

Rumours have since persisted that the 19-year-old will be transferring this summer, with Roma and in particular Napoli reportedly interested.

“Who would not like to play for a club as important as Napoli, which is equivalent to Juventus” data-scaytid=”9″>Juventus and Milan?” asked Verratti’s agent Donato Di Campli on Radio Crc this Friday.

“However, the will of Pescara is to hold on to the boy for another year, so we will evaluate carefully in the coming days with Pescara the future of Marco. I have not heard from Napoli.

“Pescara has a treasure in their hands and are trying to manage it as best as possible. Moreover, in two months, the valuation of my client has changed a lot and, to date, it begins at €12m.

“Pescara must first choose a Coach. The club wants Marco to remain with them for at least another year, but there is still time before the close of the transfer market.”
