Mike Maignan denied Memphis Depay from the spot last night, meaning he has now saved 29.5% of the penalty kicks he’s faced in his career, an achievement he celebrated with his Milan teammate Olivier Giroud.

The France international has become the regular starter between the sticks for France after Hugo Lloris’ international retirement.

Last night, he saved a Depay penalty kick in the stoppages, with France already 4-0 up.

As highlighted by Gazzetta, Maignan has now saved 29.5% of the penalty kicks he’s faced in his career, 13 out of 44.

The Rossoneri star was embraced by all his compatriots after the game, including his Milan teammate Olivier Giroud.

Maignan has saved two penalty kicks for Milan since his €15m move from Lille in the summer of 2021. One to Mohamed Salah in a 3-2 loss to Liverpool last season, and one in an away 0-0 draw against Sassuolo this past August.
