Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini says he will fuel his club's Champions League bid with at least four signings in January.

The Rosanero moved up to fifth in the standings last night with a 3-1 win over Roma at the Stadio Barbera.

As a result, the Sicilians are just a point behind third-placed Juventus and a spot in next season's top European club competition.

"We are looking to sign four or five players in January that will allow us to reach our objective," he stated.

"Our target, since the start of the season, was always to qualify for the Champions League."

When asked if he now regretted selling star man Edinson Cavani to rivals Napoli, Zamparini said no.

"We might have been stronger still with Cavani, but then again we might not have signed Josip Ilicic had he remained…

"And then there is the fact that Cavani was the one who wanted to leave, I just made him happy."

Napoli and Palermo will actually meet in Serie A next weekend.
