With just three matches to go in the Serie A season, Verona could be relegated this weekend and Juventus could be crowned champions.

There’s intrigue up and down the table, with only Benevento’s relegation mathematically settled so far.

Here’s what to look out for in Week 36.

Verona’s farewell

Verona’s relegation straight back to Serie B looks certain, and their fate could be sealed at San Siro this weekend.

Here’s what to look out for in Week 36.

Verona’s farewell

Verona’s relegation straight back to Serie B looks certain, and their fate could be sealed at San Siro this weekend.

The Butei face Milan on Saturday evening, with Gennaro Gattuso’s side looking to warm up for the Coppa Italia final against Juventus.

Fabio Pecchia’s side are seven points from safety with just nine points to play for, and anything but a win would surely seal their fate.

They face Juventus in Turin on the last day, so even that would be delaying the inevitable, but it appears this will be the weekend we say goodbye to Verona.

Juventus can put champagne on ice

Juventus face Bologna on Saturday night, and just have to win to all-but secure their seventh Scudetto in a row.

They could even win it this weekend if Napoli lose to Torino, but even a four point advantage with two games remaining would surely prove unassailable for the Partenopei.

Massimiliano Allegri may rest some of his stars ahead of the Coppa Italia final, so if there’s to be a final twist in the Scudetto race it’ll probably have to be here.

The Bianconeri head to Roma next weekend, but with Verona at home on the final day a win here should do it.

Last chance saloon for Udinese and Inter

Both Udinese and Inter head into Sunday’s early game in desperate need of three points.

Last weekend’s Derby d’Italia defeat to Juventus saw the Nerazzurri drop three points off the Champions League pace, and the top four would almost certainly be beyond them if they drop points here.

The hosts, meanwhile, haven’t won since January 28 and are only three points above the drop.

With 18th-placed Chievo and 17th-placed Spal at home to Crotone and Benevento respectively, defeat for Igor Tudor’s men could spell a whole world of trouble.

Can Spal seize their chance?

Spal currently lie one point above the relegation zone, as they look to avoid tumbling back to Serie B with fellow promoted sides Benevento and Verona.

This weekend they welcome the Streghe, who are already relegated, and this looks like a must-win game for Leonardo Semplici’s men.

With Chievo and Crotone facing each other, Udinese welcoming Inter and Cagliari hosting Roma, the Spallini have a real chance to lift themselves toward safety.

Napoli must keep it alive

Napoli will once again take to the pitch knowing the Juventus score, something which didn’t help them last weekend.

The Partenopei lost at Fiorentina after Juve had gone four points clear, with suspicions that the late Derby d’Italia turnaround had affected them.

This weekend they face the Old Lady’s city rivals, knowing they have to win to maintain any hope of a first Scudetto since 1990.

Juventus hold a goal difference advantage of 14 with an identical head-to-head, so if the leaders go six points clear it’s effectively over.

If the Bianconeri win and Napoli lose it’s mathematically over, but in the land of opera it really isn’t over until the fat lady sings.

If Maurizio Sarri’s side can extend the Scudetto race into next week they’ll be playing at the same time as Juventus, who have a tough trip to Roma.

At that point a Napoli win and a Juve loss would make the gap one point going into the final day.

In Week 38 Juventus face Verona, who will be relegated by then, but where there’s life there’s hope…
