Leeds United have completed the signing of Weston McKennie from Juventus, on loan with an option to buy for a total €36m plus another €4.5m in bonuses.

A statement from Juventus confirms the details are a six-month loan for €1.25m plus up to €0.25m in bonuses.

There is an option to buy for €34.5m payable over five instalments, which an increase with a further €4.5m in performance-related add-ons.

It had been reported this would become an obligation to buy under certain circumstances, but that is not mentioned in any of the paperwork.

The United States international flew out yesterday and underwent his medical this morning before putting pen to paper on the contract.

He was purchased from Schalke 04 in 2020 for a total €25m plus bonuses and leaves Turin after 96 competitive appearances, in which he scored 13 goals and provided five assists.

McKennie will wear the number 28 jersey at Leeds and could make his debut in the Premier League against Nottingham Forest this Sunday.
