Milan and Roma were still hoping to strike a deal with Chelsea for Hakim Ziyech on loan with option to buy, but instead L’Equipe report he is in advanced talks with Paris Saint-Germain.

The Morocco international proved what he is capable of with a marvellous performance in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, helping his team to their first ever semi-final.

He turns 30 in March and is under contract with the Stamford Bridge side until June 2025.

Chelsea only purchased Ziyech from Ajax in 2020 for €40m, but he never quite settled in at the Premier League side.

With just 15 competitive appearances for the club this season, contributing one assist, Milan and Roma had hoped to do a deal on loan with option to buy.

His €6m per season salary was a problem, as well as Chelsea hoping to monetise on the transfer, but none of those are concerns for PSG.

Remarkably, it is reported this will be a dry loan for six months, so in theory a less lucrative proposal than the one from the Serie A sides.
