After Nicolò Zaniolo rejected the move, Bournemouth have instead reportedly agreed terms with Sassuolo talent Hamed Junior Traore for €30m.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Cherries did not consider their recent trip to Italy a wasted journey, even if Zaniolo infuriated Roma by turning down the €30m plus add-ons move to the Premier League.

Instead, they turned their focus towards another young Serie A talent and have already struck a deal for Ivory Coast international Traore at €30m including bonuses.

He turns 23 next month and plays in a creative midfield role, but can also work down the left flank.

Like Zaniolo, Traore’s contract only runs to June 2024 and he had also been linked with a potential move to Milan only to be considered too expensive.

He is the brother of Amad Diallo Traore, who Atalanta sold to Manchester United and is now on loan at Sunderland.

Traore and his brother moved to Italy as very young children and were spotted together playing by an Empoli talent scout, who took them into the youth academy.

As for Sassuolo, Sky Sport Italia also report they have found a replacement by paying €6m for Empoli and Albania international midfielder Nedim Bajrami.
