Rade Krunic has extended his contract with Milan until 2025, the Serie A champions confirmed.

The 28-year-old has extended his stay at San Siro by one more year given that his previous deal was due to expire in June 2024.

“AC Milan is delighted to announce that Rade Krunić has extended his contract with the Club until 30 June 2025,” the Rossoneri said in an official statement.

“Rade joined AC Milan in the summer of 2019 and has gone on to play 91 matches in all competitions for the Rossoneri, providing the midfield with solidity and quality.”

The 28-year-old joined Milan on a permanent €8.6m deal from Empoli in the summer of 2019. Initially brought in by former Milan coach Marco Giampaolo, Krunic has been an important tactical key for Stefano Pioli over the last two years.

The Bosnia international can play as an attacking midfielder or as one of the two central midfielders.

Krunic has scored nine goals in 149 Serie A appearances and has 27 international caps to his name. He made his senior Bosnia debut in 2016.

The Rossoneri will soon announce Sandro Tonali’s extension and will sit down with Jorge Mendes to discuss Rafael Leao’s new deal.

The Portuguese star’s current agreement runs out in June 2024.

  1. He’s a kind of player who never complains whether he’s playing or benched. Glad he extend the contract.
