Mark Van Bommel says he didn't hesitate in joining Milan – even though they only offered him a six-month deal.

The Dutchman signed for the club in January from Bayern Munich and he's on the verge of winning the Scudetto.

"When Milan came after me I had no doubts," the midfielder is quoted as saying. "I did take a risk in signing for just six months, but it has all gone well.

"I have already won seven titles in my career, but the last one you win is always the best," he continued.

Van Bommel has made such an impact that there is a chance that he could extend his stay with the San Siro giants.

"Vice-President Adriano Galliani has told me that we will discuss that option once the season is over," he concluded.

Van Bommel is one of four central midfielders whose contracts expire in June, with the others being Andrea Pirlo, Clarence Seedorf and Massimo Ambrosini.
