La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Newcastle United are the most likely Premier League destination for ex-Roma boss José Mourinho, but the interest from Saudi Pro League clubs is still alive.

Mourinho was sacked by Roma on Tuesday and replaced with club legend Daniele De Rossi who has signed a contract until the end of the season at the Stadio Olimpico.

La Gazzetta dello Sport analyses the potential next destinations for the Special One highlighting that he has already coached all the big teams in the Premier League, except for Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal, who are unlikely to part company with their managers shortly.

The pink notes that Mou is still a legend to many Chelsea fans, but it is ‘unrealistic’ to see Todd Boehly sack Mauricio Pochettino to bring the Special One back to Stamford Bridge.

The same goes for Manchester United and Tottenham, so Newcastle remain the most realistic Premier League destination for the Portuguese coach next season.

Mourinho has been linked with PSG for a long time, but in the end, the Ligue 1 giants always picked different options and it’s ‘hard to think about clubs like Marseille or Premier League sides that have an 8th placement finish as the best scenario,’ wrote Gazzetta.

Brazil have recently appointed Dorival Junior but could ‘think about Mourinho in the future’ while Saudi teams continue to be attracted by the Portuguese, who rejected an offer from Al Hilal last summer.

According to Gazzetta, Mou could receive more proposals next summer when he could be the ‘primary object of desire for Saudi Pro League alongside Mo Salah.’
