Juventus have had more injuries than any other club this season, but Napoli had the least with only four, calculated La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Bianconeri fans will not be surprised by this statistic, as Mario Mandzukic and Sami Khedira have just been ruled out for three weeks, while the campaign is already over for Martin Caceres.

Juve have dealt with 33 different injuries this season, surpassing even troubled Lazio on 32.

There’s a big drop-off from there, down to 26 for Bologna, 25 Torino and 23 for bottom of the table Verona.

The intriguing statistic is that Serie A leaders Napoli are bottom of the pile with only four injuries all season.

It’s worth noting that one of them is Alberto Grassi, who arrived from Atalanta and suffered a knee ligament injury in his first training session.

Manolo Gabbiadini also sustained his injury while on international duty, so only Dries Mertens and Vlad Chiriches were ruled out playing for Napoli.

There are reasons behind this remarkable record, including DNA tests for all players – including the youth team – to prevent issues, postural studies and a specific nutritional programme.

While Juventus have had the most injuries, Lazio are the worst hit with 22 different players suffering from problems compared to 17 at Juve and Milan, 16 at Roma and Verona.

Serie A injuries this season: Juventus 33, Lazio 32, Bologna 26, Torino 25, Verona 23, Genoa and Milan 22, Chievo 18, Roma 17, Atalanta and Udinese 16, Carpi and Sampdoria 14, Empoli and Inter 13, Frosinone 12, Fiorentina 10, Sassuolo 9, Palermo 7, Napoli 4.
