With just over half of the season gone the Partenopei are top of Serie A, one point and one place above Max Allegri’s team.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Milan Coach heaped praise on Sarri for the job he has done at the San Paolo despite a lack of ‘top players’ to work with.

“Sarri has taken Napoli into the future,” the legendary ex-Rossoneri boss said.

“They don’t have top players, yet they still play a style of football that has quality and style.

“The proof of that is shown by the improvement of so many players – Koulibaly, Mertens, Ghoulam, Insigne.”

Sacchi added that Juve’s greater strength in depth is the reason why he can’t see Napoli stopping them from winning a seventh consecutive Scudetto.

“The Scudetto would be the right reward for their style, but Napolidon’t have the resources of Juve.

“Juve can take out the 36 goals of Higuain and replace him with someone like Cuadrado.

“However it goes, Sarri has already won.”
