Jose Mourinho’s Roma are among the clubs interested in taking Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma on loan, claim reports in France.

The 26-year-old centre-back has eight senior caps for France, scoring one goal for his country.

According to Telefoot, Zouma has been told he needs to find a new club and leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Wolverhampton Wanderers had made an approach, but the player turned them down.

Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be interested too, although Roma would certainly be an intriguing option.

Mourinho is seemingly happy to pick Zouma up on loan with option to buy from Chelsea.

His contract only runs to June 2023 and he had loan spells at Saint-Etienne, Stoke City and Everton over the last few years.

Despite being a centre-back, Zouma scored five goals in 36 competitive games for Chelsea last season, all of those coming in the Premier League.

Although he was in the France squad for UEFA EURO 2020, he did not receive any playing time.
