Jose Mourinho may not move to Manchester United after all, prompting speculation of a return to Italy and Inter.

The Special One seemed set to become the new Coach of the Red Devils next season, but surprising new reports from the English media suggest that may not be the case.

According to the Sunday mirror, Mourinho has fallen out of favour with the directors at United. The primary reason has to do with his alleged poor record at nurturing young players, and with the club's plan of developing Ryan Giggs as their future manager.

According to the Sunday mirror, Mourinho has fallen out of favour with the directors at United. The primary reason has to do with his alleged poor record at nurturing young players, and with the club's plan of developing Ryan Giggs as their future manager.

Should the rumour be confirmed, it would open a variety of new options for Serie A.

Mourinho said in the past that he may be open to a return to Inter, who are currently struggling in terms of results.

Milan and Roma, in spite of the recent success of coaches Sinisa Mihajlovic and Luciano Spalletti, were until recently believed to be looking for a different, long-term manager.

Juventus are very happy with Max Allegri but may seek a replacement should the latter be lured away by a new club, such as Chelsea or Real Madrid.
