José Mourinho delivered a message to Roma fans while on his way to the Capital to begin his tenure at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Special One has signed a three-year deal with the Giallorossi, and he will land in Rome today.

He delivered a message to Roma fans, which the club published on Twitter.

“Yes Roma fans, I am about to pack my bags, see you soon.”

Roma begin their pre-season on July 6 and the Portuguese coach will be looking to bring the first piece of silverware since 2008 when the Giallorossi won the Coppa Italia beating Roberto Mancini’s Inter in the Final.

Mourinho replaced Mancini the following summer and won the first trophy with the Nerazzurri against Roma in the Italian Super Cup.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Mourinho will land in Roma at 1 pm UK time (2 pm local time) and has chosen Trigoria as the place where to follow a mandatory five-day quarantine.

The Special One is flying to Rome from London and the UK is on Italy’s red list for COVID, so Mourinho must self-isolate for five days given that a mandatory quarantine on travellers from the UK was imposed on June 18.
