Federico Chiesa seems the favourite to start on the right-wing and either Francesco Acerbi or Giorgio Chiellini could partner Leonardo Bonucci in defence.

The Azzurri face Belgium in the quarter-finals of UEFA Euro 2020 today.

They meet at Munich’s Allianz Arena at 8 pm UK time and the Azzurri will have one more training session on Friday morning ahead of the kick-off.

Roberto Mancini can rely on full squad as Chiellini and Alessandro Florenzi have recovered from their injuries.

Florenzi is expected to start on the bench with Giovanni Di Lorenzo at right-back, while Francesco Acerbi could replace Chiellini, who is not 100 per cent fit despite recovering from a thigh injury.

According to several reports, Chiellini is the favourite to start along with Bonucci in the heart of the Azzurri’s defence, but Sky Sport Italia reports Acerbi played with the starters’ team during Thursday’s training session and the same is true of Chiesa who is the favourite to start as a right-winger.

Domenico Berardi has started three of Italy’s four EURO 2020 games so far, but Chiesa replaced him in the Round of 16 tie against Austria last week and proved to be decisive with the goal that broke the deadlock in extra time.

Belgium coach Roberto Martinez is dealing with the injuries of Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard.

The former Everton boss admitted that it will be hard to see the Real Madrid winger on the pitch tonight, while KDB has more chances to start despite an ankle injury sustained against Portugal on Sunday.
