Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini claims Inter President Massimo Moratti has "always been fascinated by Carlos Tevez."

The Argentina international striker's future is still the subject of great debate after he requested a transfer earlier this month, citing differences with City's chief executives.

Initially, Tevez hinted at a return to Boca Juniors so he can be close to his children, but that hasn't stopped Europe's biggest clubs from being linked with his signature.

"Moratti has always been fascinated by Tevez," Mancini said. "It's normal that Inter like him. But the soap opera is over. Tevez is staying here."

Asked about speculation linking Emmanuel Adebayor with a move to Inter's rivals Juventus, Mancini replied: "At the moment we are not selling the Togo striker. Right now [Juventus] can't sign him because of the non-EU players limit."

Mancini then gave his reaction to Moratti's decision to appoint former Milan Coach Leonardo as Rafa Benitez's replacement.

"Initially I thought they were only rumours. What can I say? Nothing surprises me in football anymore.

"Leonardo is an exceptional lad. He knows football and will do well at a big club like Inter.

"Inter are a special club, but the most important thing is to win," he concluded.
