Antonio Cassano is overweight and needs to cut down if he is to hold down a regular place in the first team at Milan, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 28-year-old flew with the team to Dubai yesterday for a winter training camp after agreeing to leave Sampdoria following a dispute with the club's owner.

Cassano hasn't played for two months and he is seriously lacking match fitness.

La Gazzetta understands the Italy international is 2.5kg overweight and will undergo a specialist training regime over the next month.
