Vincenzo Montella says he ‘believes’ Sevilla have what it takes to come back against Bayern Munich and reach the Champions League semi-finals.

Roma successfully overturned a 4-1 deficit against Barcelona on Tuesday, and the Italian insisted Sevilla had it in them to emulate his former club at Bayern’s Allianz Arena.

“Matches are always long, but the important thing is to always be in the game and play with balance and patience,” he said at a Press conference.

“We always have to play like that, with our heads, and I believe [the comeback] is possible.

“We see beating them a possibility, and it’s important not to concede a goal, especially in the first half.

“In the first leg, in the second half, Bayern had the ball for a long time, but the important thing isn’t how much we have the ball but penetrating when we have it and making chances.”
