Monchi believes Roma’s rivals may now ‘be afraid’ of them after they knocked Barcelona out of the Champions League on Tuesday.

Roma came back from 4-1 down to beat Barca 3-0 in their quarter-final second leg and go through on away goals, and Monchi spoke of his pride at the Giallorossi having completed the turnaround.

“Tomorrow we’ll start preparing the derby, then we’ll see how the draw goes,” the sporting director told Roma TV.

“Perhaps the others will be afraid of Roma now.”
