Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s agent Mateja Kezman has denied that he ever said his client wants to join Manchester United.

Several Italian media reported that Kezman, a former Chelsea striker, had claimed that he was in talks with Manchester United and PSG and that the Lazio midfielder wanted a move to Old Trafford.

However, Kezman denied he had ever released the interview. “It’s fake news, I’ve never released interviews lately,” he told Tuttojuve.

“Some journalists are just incredible. I’m very angry. That’s a lack of respect towards myself, Lazio and Sergej.”

The Serbia intentional has been the best midfielder in Serie A this term, having contributed to 20 goals in 34 league games.

He has been linked with Juventus, United and PSG and Lazio’s asking price is in the region of €70-80m.

Milinkovic-Savic’s contract at the Stadio Olimpico expires in 2024, but he seems destined to leave Lazio in the summer, following his excellent displays under Maurizio Sarri this term.

Milinkovic-Savic joined Lazio from Genk in 2015 for just €12m. He has scored 57 goals in 291 appearances with the Biancocelesti and has five goals in 30 senior international caps with Serbia.

  1. If they’re offered silly money, it might be time to sell.

That Lazio squad needs rebuilding, and a huge offer from an epl team might help them do it.

  2. Not worth 70-80m but Lotito can ask whatever he feels is ok and Sergej has managed himself perfectly with these rumours

  3. Why would someone as good as Sergej even want to consider Manchester United at the moment? Is he desperate to play with Fred and McTominay in midfield?! Is he really excited to have Maguire as a captain?! Hahaha…

Manchester United will obviously rebuild with Ten Haag but it will take time and if Sergej wants to win things then he will not want to wait for this club that is as far away as ever from winning the major trophies. Liverpool and Manchester City are so far above any other team at the moment and I don’t think either are going to be in for him so the Premier League doesn’t seem suitable.
