According to Il Corriere dello Sport newspaper, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is determined to leave Lazio at the end of the season but would prefer to stay in Serie A over a move to the Premier League.

The 27-year-old is under contract at the Stadio Olimpico until 2024, but his agent Mateja Kezman has already informed the club that his client wants to leave in the summer. Juventus, Manchester United and PSG are closely monitoring the Serbia international whose brother Vanja plays for Torino.

On Monday night, Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri said that if Milinkovic-Savic leaves, he will likely move outside Serie A. However, according to Il Corriere dello Sport, the talented midfielder would prefer to remain in Italy.

His representative has already spoken to four or five Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, who are long time admirers of the 27-year-old.

Milinkovic was close to joining the Red Devils for €75m before they signed Bruno Fernandes from Sporting CP in 2019. Juventus have also monitored SMS for a long time but must deal with Claudio Lotito’s economic demands.

Lazio are prepared to see their star leave but want at least €50-60m. Juventus fans applauded the 27-year-old during Monday’s home clash against Lazio, but the Bianconeri are also in talks with Paul Pogba, who could return to Turin on a free transfer.

8 thought on “Milinkovic-Savic to snub Man United for Serie A stay?”
  1. Juve does not have the cash unless they sell De Ligt or Chiesa to Bayern or elsewhere….Given his 27 age Savic would surely choose Juve for CL football over United even with more money on the English side..however at 22 Anthony would be a wise option

  2. Top level player. Great with his feet AND his head. He has 11 goals plus 11 as*ists this season. Would do well in Milan I think. I’d sign both Savic and Berardi. They’re producing incredible numbers in Serie A for a few seasons now.

  3. I would love this guy in Milan. With Tonali they would be unstoppable. However it looks like a wet dream since Lotito won’t let go him cheap. If Juventus are going for Pogba, don’t see how they can afford a player like SMS. Crazy times!

  4. @Ringo

When Juve tried to sign Vlahovic, there were opinions that Juve had no money. But Juve eventually signed him. I think it’s the same case with Milinkovic Savic…

  5. If Juve can get >25mil after selling Arthur and Bernadeschi, they should be able to stomach Lotitos demands

  6. Juve still have to pay for Vlahovic and Locatelli.

Surely they can’t afford SMS unless they do another lay by deal which i dont think Lotito would accept

  7. This guy valued twice than pogba
The negative is that SMS cost a lot and pogba free
This should be a serious consideration of juve management for this day
They will choose the deadwood over the golden stone
