Multiple reports are emerging this evening that Roma want to change the terms for Arkadiusz Milik, including a possible €5m discount from Napoli, putting Edin Dzeko’s Juventus transfer at risk.

The double deal was seemingly all done 48 hours ago, with Milik undergoing a medical and agreeing the transfer on loan with obligation to buy for a total €18m plus €7m in bonuses and two youth team players.

In turn, Dzeko would be released to join Juventus for €15m, which is why the Bosnian is only on the bench for tonight’s Serie A opener with Hellas Verona.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport, Il Tempo and others are now reporting the situation has changed.

Milik is arguing with Napoli over the details of outstanding wages and the fine from when the squad mutinied against then-coach Carlo Ancelotti in November 2019.

It is believed there is still the not insignificant sum of €1m between Milik and Napoli before they can agree terms.

On top of that, there are also suggestions in the Gazzetta that the medical highlighted some issues with Milik’s knees, having snapped the ACL in both legs.

Il Tempo reporter Alessandro Austini maintains Roma therefore asked for a €5m discount on the deal, due to the medical and the damages caused by the delays to this transfer.

Napoli have no intention of losing a penny, but are also backed into a corner because Milik is only under contract until the end of this season and could start negotiating a free transfer in January.
