Despite a busy summer transfer window, Milan have managed to maintain a stable wage bill heading into the 2023-24 season.

Calcio e Finanza analysed the Rossoneri’s salary commitments, confirming that the club will pay almost €90m gross in wages this campaign, slightly less than the just over €90m gross of last year.

Considering that Milan signed nine new players this summer, they’ve impressively managed to slightly lower their wage bill thanks to the work of their outgoing market, selling Sandro Tonali and various redundant figures.

The highest paid player in the Rossoneri squad is Rafael Leao, who recently agreed a new five-year deal worth €5m net per season. Behind him are three new signings, who all earn €4m net in wages – Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic and Samuel Chukwueze.

Joining the new signings are Theo Hernandez and Ismael Bennacer, who both signed new deals within the last year taking them up to €4m net per season each.

Savings were made thanks to the departures of various players, including Sergino Dest (€3.8m net), Tiemoué Bakayoko (€2.5m), Aster Vranckx (€1.5m), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (€1.5m) and Ante Rebic (€3.5m).
