Jorge Mendes will be a key figure in Milan‘s transfers in the coming weeks, but according to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Portuguese agent has raised salary requests for his clients Renato Sanches and Rafael Leao.

Milan are interested in signing the Lille midfielder whose contract runs out in June 2023. PSG haven’t yet made an official offer for the former Bayern Munich starlet who is tempted to join the Ligue 1 giants.

According to reports in Italy, his agent Mendes has raised salary demands for his client after holding talks with PSG. As per Il Corriere dello Sport, the superagent wants a €5m-a-year deal for the midfielder, while his previous request was €3.5m, more in line with Milan’s budget.

What’s probably even more worrying for the Serie A giants is that Mendes seems to have adopted the same strategy for Leao’s contract extension.

The Portugal star’s contract runs out in 2024 and Milan have been in talks with his agent for several months.

Leao currently gets €1.5m per season and Milan had offered him a new €4.5m-a-year deal. The proposal is no longer enough for the striker named Serie A Player Of The Year in 2021-22 following Milan’s title victory.

Corsport claims Mendes now wants his client to become the highest earner at the Stadio Meazza with a new €7m-a-year contract.

  1. Surprise, surprise, the biggest Milan fan, Juvenesia is here. Nowhere to be seen at Juventus‘ thread but always quick to comment on Milan. Maybe change your nick to Milanesia instead since you’re so obsessed with Milan lol.

  2. The first commenter is just so sore Milan won the Scudetto, he’s been everywhere about Milan ever since. He’s more of a Milan fan now that he is a Juve fan.

Regarding Leao, since he’s the Serie A player of the season, maybe you can offer him half a million or one million more than what Theo earns, but anything more than that will create more problems and is out of the question.

If he was consistent enough then sure 7m would’ve been fair but he’s not there yet. We’ll see what happens with him.

  3. Too much time on his hands. Should be worried about your 4th place finish last season and what your plans are for the new season, seems like your Serie A dominance has come to and end, and no luck on the European front either.

  4. They should sell him to highest bidder if they continue to blackmail. No one is bigger than the club. There are many LWs out there that can easily replace him. And for half of what they can sell him for.

  5. Sell Leao – that is ridiculous to
Ask for that kind of wages.
Drop Sanchez and give the salary to Bennacer.
Then buy new stars of tomorrow for those position and buy a real goal getter

Buy Mæhle as a super back up

  6. With all respekt. His form has been up and down, and only lastv6 months showet glimpses. 7m i to much for anyone. Sell him and take the money. Ridiclous. Then the rest of the squad wants 7million. Hopefully seriea clubs can be United in Wales, its will make a club bankrupt rather fast if there is No suksess. Look at juventus, can only sign free agent that is 34 ++ or washed away feee 30year olds. Milan should be strict. He wont get playing time in any big club like psg or real or City.

  7. Who is interested in Leao though??? The teams that can afford him mostly have LW position covered. Bayern bought Mane, Liverpool is set, Chelsea got Sterling, PSG has Neymar, Spurs has one of the most underrated LW in Son. Real Madrid extended Vinicius. Man City just bought Grealish last season, doubt they will buy another one after landing Haaland and Alvarez recently. Man U is more interested in going Dutch. Arsenal obviously wants everyone, but getting rejected by everyone too lol.

Please don’t mention Barcelona as they can’t even pay the players’ salary.. and I don’t even know how they conjure the money to bid on Lewa.

So, not many option, unless Leao wants to try his luck to Newcastle?
