Milan are today pushing for an agreement with Roma man Mattia Destro, even as he and Rudi Garcia are suggested as reluctant on the deal.

The Rossoneri were reported yesterday to have reached a deal with the Giallorossi for the 23-year-old’s transfer, on an initial loan move that reports today reiterate will cost €700,000, with an optional purchase clause for the summer at between €15m and €16.5m.

The Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport are both running the line that today Adriano Galliani is meeting with the player’s entourage to try to convince him to accept the move too.

Destro is currently believed to be reluctant to move, due to the make-up of the deal, preferring instead a permanent deal.

It is believed in response, as milannews.it report Galliani as heading down to Rome this morning, that Milan would be prepared to make Destro’s purchase clause mandatory, if linked to a number of appearances or goals.

However, Il Messaggero and Tuttosport suggest that the move is also being hampered by Roma Coach Rudi Garcia.

The Frenchman is believed to also hold doubts over the potential return of Destro in the summer, if the Giallorossi buy a replacement this January and are then left with too many strikers.
