According to Sky Sport Italia, Milan have resumed talks to extend Hakan Calhanoglu’s expiring contract with the Rossoneri who have made a slightly improved offer.
The contract of the Turkey international expires in June and the Rossoneri’s €4m-a-year offer was rejected by the 27-year-old.
Sky Sport Italia reports that Milan have made a slightly improved offer, adding €500,000 to their previous proposal.
The club’s directors have reportedly informed the player’s entourage that they expect a final decision within a few days, otherwise they will try to sign a new attacking midfielder.
Udinese‘s Rodrigo De Paul is the leading candidate to replace Calhanoglu, but the Friulani want at least €40m to sell the Argentinean playmaker.
Calhanoglu has received an €8m-a-year offer from Al-Duhail and according to Calciomercato.com, Juventus are also interested in securing the player’s services, having offered him a €5m-a-year deal.
Milan have dropped Gigio Donnarumma, who will leave the San Siro as a free agent in the summer. The Rossoneri have signed Mike Maignan from Lille to replace Italy international.
