The Rossoneri are believed to be targeting a centre-forward after Fernando Torres joined Atletico Madrid, with winger Alessio Cerci arriving in exhange.

Reports have linked the Diavolo with Roma striker Mattia Destro, and today’s Gazzetta dello Sport reiterates those claims.

The newspaper believes that the striker was discussed between joint-CEO Adriano Galliani and Silvio Berlusconi when the President made his weekly visit to Milanello on Friday.

The sports daily states that Milan will meet with Roma’s sporting director Walter Sabatini this week, in order to try to hammer out a deal for the former Siena man.

However, it is believed that the Giallorossi will ask for time to find a replacement before consenting to any deal.

Gazzetta believes that replacement will not come in the form of Rossoneri striker Giampaolo Pazzini, with the Italian international unwilling to leave, preferring instead to try to prove himself for Milan.

That could be a problem, as the paper believes that unless Pazzini leaves, Milan will be unable to afford to sign another striker.
